Inhabits wide range of environments. This species is probably the most wide distributed mammals after man. Individuals in Hokkaido are often distinguished as subspecies. In Hokkaido, it is very easy to observe the Red Foxes, even during the day time, but for somereason they seem to be more secretive in Honshu, apparing more at night.
