About Tomonobu Akiyama

I was born in Hamamatsu, Japan in 1973, since childhood I had a great interest in wildlife.

After graduating Hamamatsu Kotou highschool in 1992,I entered International Christian University where I studied Biology.
In 1994, with award from Rotary Foundation's Ambassedorial Scholarships, I transfered to New Mexico State University in USA to study wildlife management.

I moved to Kyoto, Japan in 1996 where I lived for 5 years.
I was studying about behaviour and ecology of Masked Palm Civet for the Master degree at Kyoto unversity.

In 2000, I became freelance wildlife researcher mainly for analyzing emvironmental impacts for public constructions and travelled all over Japan seaching for wildlife.
Also, I was fortunate enough to meet many wildlife outside Japan. I had a great sighting of Lions, Cheetahs and a leopard in Kenya;Clouded Leopards in Malaysia; Jaguar in Costa Rica; Tigers in India.

Now, I'm thinking of pursuing career as a wildlife photographer and also as a Nature guide taking advantage of experience in wildlife.
